Transport to Oxegen!

Well alot of people are wondering what way would be best to get to Oxegen. The answer is Public transport! Not only is it fast and completely hasstle free, but it's the greenest way to get to Oxegen. Travel by fans, crew and bands to and from Oxegen is the second biggest source of carbon emissions to the festival itself! So by getting the busses provided or shuttle buses with your mates, it saves Oxegen from reducing their carbon emissions further! :)

Could the cost of tickets affect the amount of people heading to Oxegen?

Hey again! I thought it would be interesting to see if there would be more or less people going to Oxegen this year than the last few previous years so I did a bit of research. In 2004 and 2005, a one-day tickets cost €59.50, two-day tickets were €110.00 and a two-day two-day camping cost €130.00. In 2006 when the ticktes went on sale to the general public, the weekend camping tickets were priced at €160. These tickets sold out in appromiximately 48 minutes so people were definitely keen on going to Oxegen that year. By 2007, the price of a day ticket rose to €96.50, a weekend ticket cost €177.50, and the price of a weekend camping ticket rose to €197.50! I think this was because the acts were getting better. 2008 tickets went on sale on Friday March 7, but failed to sell out until May 7! This means that less people were keen to buy Oxegen tickets. The prices are now still the same since 2008 but bigger and more well known acts are being annouced since then so I don't think the rise in cost of Oxegen tickets has affected the population of people going to Oxegen! Hopefully there will be more this year by looking at the Line-up! :D x

The History of Oxegen!

Hellooooo :) I'm just going to tell you a bit about the history of Oxegen! Well first of all, Oxegen is promoted by MCD. Oxegen was previously called "Witnness" which was ran from 2000 until 2004 and it was sponsored by Guinness but in 2004 they changed it to Oxegen and it's now sponosred by Heineken! It was originally a 3 day camping festival but in 2008 they decided to make it 4 day! Every year, around 90,000 people would attend the festival with around 80,000 camping and the other 10,000 travelling each day! The history of Oxegen's line-up has been very impressive and attracted more and more people through out the years, but the line-up just keeps getting better and better! :D x

Enviromental Issues at Oxegen

I know the majority of people who go to Oxegen really don't care about how Oxegen is left at the end of the day but Oxegen does! Last years Oxegen, 2009, Oxegen had offset all they're emission.. This means that Oxegen is now a 100% CarbonNeatura event! This was spotted by YOUROPE (The European Festival Association) who then awarded Oxegen with the Green N Clean Award! We congratulate you Oxegen :D haha
